New Boston Globe business editor Mark Pothier has a raft of qualifications: He edited weekly newspapers, did a Nieman fellowship and was editor of a zoned section called Globe South.

But he also has a line on his résumé few others could match:

In addition to his journalism, he is well known among music enthusiasts as the keyboardist for the band Ministry in the 1980s. He continues to play in the band Adventure Set.

In this undated interview, Pothier talked about his time in the group, which he joined during its brief synth-pop period. “I was more of a hired gun,” he said. Pothier said he appeared on “a few studio things – like the remake of ‘I Wanted to Tell Her,’ the extended version of ‘Revenge,’ a bit of ‘A Walk in the Park.’” “Revenge” is one of the best songs on that album.
