Massive new national security leak exposed

Washington D.C. August 2, 2013 - Details today began to emerge surrounding a new security leak of unprecedented magnitude. Operatives from within the White House, State Department, and Department of Defense were believed to have been the source of massive new leaks that provided detailed information to al Qaeda regarding plots that are being monitored. Normally activities of this nature are conducted in top secret, so as to not tip off the enemy about the level of our knowledge. But the leakers spoiled the secrecy of that operation by announcing publicly that we will be closing down embassies this Sunday in 23 countries. The leakers went on to identify the embassies that will be closed. People were stunned when the leakers divulged details about the data collection that led to this decision.

While Americans were assessing the harm done by this vast breach of security, putting hundreds of foreign service workers at risk, it has emerged that the leakers included Secretary of State John Kerry and President Barack Obama. When questioned about this massive breach of operational security, far more damaging to field operatives than anything revealed by either Edward Snowden or Bradley Manning, the President offered the so-called "Nixon defense". "If the president says it, it isn't a leak," quipped the President.

Meanwhile senior al Qaeda officials were apparently bewildered by this apparently irrational behavior by the administration. A well placed, high-level al Qaeda official was quoted saying "We really appreciate the heads-up from President Obama. So I guess we won't bomb anybody on Sunday after all."

Whenever there is some move afoot to challenge the supremacy of the security industrial complex, we saw the threat level go up one or two colors.

Surely Obama would never think of such a thing.

The narrative in the OP is a fairy-tale.

Yes - the Sunday closing of embassies thing happened, but the story in the OP is fabricated

You won't find it anywhere on the web except on DU.

I checked all over - it's only here -

I think it should be removed - It could go round the globe as "truth" in a matter of minutes.

OP is fake.

I thought the OP actually made a pretty good point, albeit in a snarky way which only piqued my interest as something of a connoisseur of fine snark.

How can people write all these articles about "leaker" Edward Snowden yet be completely oblivious when the President himself authorizes a leak of information 1000 times more damaging than anything Snowden ever released?

Please answer that question. Please tell me why not a single major media reporter has posed that question.

Yes, I composed the article as en example of what a column would look like if it were treated the same way as 10,000 Snowden columns have been.

Other than my Nixon reference, everything else in my version of the report is completely true. I'd like to think people are intelligent enough to recognize the irony of the Nixon statement. Obama didn't have to say it is so many words. He is, in fact, using the Nixon doctrine. No question about that.

Sure looks like you tried to make it look like a real news item,

which it certainly is not.

"everything else in my version of the report is completely true" - NOT

You did not pose it as a question.

Nor did you, until now, admit YOU composed the article.

And yes, Obama DOES have to say it in so many words,

And I doubt you spoke with Al Quaida either . . .

Just my opinion of course.

I don't mind the attacks, but I'd appreciate a thoughtful response to the questions.
