San Jose mom accused of driving getaway car arraigned on attempted murder charges

A San Jose mother accused of driving her son and another teen during the reported gang-related attack of a 13-year-old boy was charged Wednesday with attempted murder, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

Margaret Juanita Suazo, 42, was formally arraigned during a brief afternoon court appearance. Prosecutors have added a gang enhancement, which could land Suazo in prison for 19 years if convicted as charged, according to the district attorney's office.

The midday attack on Feb. 16 left the young victim with stab wounds in the chest and back, a punctured lung and defensive wounds on his hands, according to a court document.

Two of the boy's fingers on his left hand were almost cut off, according to the report.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS COUNTRY? I live in SJ, and I know that while many parents/other community activists take stands against gang violence, sadly there are other parents complicit in the street culture.

grossly underfunded programs for the inner cities which have gone grossly underfunded for 30 plus years.

when you have no opportunities to proper education, when you are told you are second class citizen your whole life, when the police search you for nothing more than not being white, when selling drugs is a better option to make your bills then trying to find a job that pays a lot less the minimum wage, when minimum wage is far from being a livable wage...shall I go on?

we, as a nation, have fallen hook line and sinker for the colossal pile of bullshit the right wing has shoved down our throats.

So why are 13 year olds stabbing other 13 year olds and mothers acting as get away drivers? because they have zero opportunity and have had zero positive roll models on the endless treadmill of poverty.
