such a sad thing. in the pictures of her and her brother they both have the exact same smile. she was old enough to remember him when he was just born.

I HOPE that ALL parents start to pay really close attention the "friends" of the family and fringe relatives who glomb onto the kids in a family.

It's NOT NATURAL for adults to be in so many photos with cute teenaged daughters of friends..... and it's certainly not normal to allow said teen to go on overnight trips, alone with these guys.. (the Hollywood adventure)

In most of these cases there is some degree of lack of attention to details that later on become life & death situations..

The Elizabeth Smart case is a prime example.. Dad decided it was okay to hire cheap laborers to work at the house, alongside his beautiful young daughters.

Parenting is exhausting and it gets more difficult as adolescents/teens want to grow up and spread their wings, but there are predators out there who look for those situations and capitalize on them.

What I wonder is, why did she think to go get her cat, and not wonder where Mom & brother were?..

She will probably take all the little details to her grave. I hope she moves to another place where she can alter her looks, go by a different name and truly start over. New people in our lives only know what we choose to tell them.. She is young enough to start fresh,m but she will need some psychological help to be sure..

i agree that much of this is not normal.

there are many families where a child will have close adult relatives or friends of the family who are considered family. but even then you wont see the relationship and a bunch of pics like there was with this guy and hannah. the adults should always be a kind of parental figure .

i think that guy walsh said the same thing about the ones you usually need to look out for are those already in your own life. there is wayyy too much said about being careful about some strangers. some of it is common sense. but nothing about the ones in your own life.
