My dream is that one will hit South Of The Border and spread that tacky crap they sell all over the world. Get it in the upper wind currents. (I don't want anybody hurt)

WTF is this "South of the Border" I keep seeing mentioned on DU today?
I Googled it, went to the site and it STILL doesn't ring a bell.
Of course, when I vacation, I don't go to SC anymore, but... still. One would think I would have heard of this place.

They sell crap that would supposedly be found in Mexico south of that border. Tacky is kind.
The signs leading to SOOB are fun. That's about it.

Tackiest place on earth, and I say that with mild affection.
If you are driving from NY or thereabouts to Florida, you actually find yourself looking forward to it, because it's SOMETHING of interest on I-95.
Stay safe, Grits!

(3,310 posts)Caswell (north of Burlington, NC against the VA line) went under high wind advisory. I had to take the washing off the line the wind was so high. The sheets were wrapped all the way around the line. So much for solar drying today.

Jack, our rescue dog, is on my lap chilling after receiving his first dose of rescue remedy! Abby is at my side, unconcerned. She's partially deaf, but even she heard the warning beep on TWC.

Gotta love @WIS10 ... "there may be a tornado, somewhere, on the ground ... someplace." Sheesh. They're as dumb as their viewers.
That about sums a lot of things up.

(4,507 posts)I'm never all that worried for myself, but I become scared to death for my family and my little one (my cat) when these things are afoot (I'm also lucky to have lived in places that don't see much of this sort of weather).
I get on pretty heightened alert during dangerous weather...
Hope it continues to be safe in your particular neck of the woods.

On a slightly more serious note, stay safe, Palmetto Staters.
