RNC 1. NBC 0 DNC :(
Recently on this site there have been a couple threads that claimed that the RNC move to threaten NBC and CNN and the Spanish affiliates with exclusion from the debates if they produced and showed the Hillary Clinton miniseries was suicide, or stupidity. http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=3476093
That is one example, but there were others that followed the same general ideal. That the RNC was blindingly stupid in doing this. I said no, that it would shore up support with the base going into the midterms, and they might be able to keep that momentum going into the Presidential of 2016. I pointed out how we all cheered when the White House nuked Faux News as an example of how the partisans would see it.
It seems there was another answer I hadn't considered. It is being reported on the FTV gossip site that NBC is dumping the Hillary Clinton miniseries.

Now, I got to say it was the one outcome I didn't consider. An oversight on my part.
Word is that NBC is going to let it quietly go away without saying a word.
NBC does not want to make it look like the RNC or their own news people "got their way," so the project will likely die in the "in development" stage.
One NBC source told FTVLive that the miniseries has gone from a 90% "go" to more like a a 60% "No go."
So the suicidal stupid jumping the shark moment for the Rethugs appears to be moving into the win category for the Rethugs. Even if NBC just shuts up about it refusing to discuss the issue, the RNC will be crowing and celebrating how they brought a TV Network to their knees.
So the question is, how dumb was it again?
