On Al Sharptons Politics Nation: JFK had a tricky relationship with Martin Luther King at first

...and didn't want to be involved with MLK until was checked out by J Edgar Hoover.

None of these leaders start out perfect or the way we want them to be.

The difference is the great Democratic leaders are workable, they'll move if we move them....they'll move if we move them



Move them with a congress, a congress that's more progressive than they are.... usually.




Seems like that has been the history of democratic leaders, I think that history will endure as it has endured..
