With each war they learn how to better sell the next one.

Viet Nam -- lesson: Don't show the war on TV + don't show the protests on TV

Iraq 1 -- lesson: Americans love a quick war and lots of footage from the nose of bombs.

Afghanistan -- lesson: Wars don't have to end. No need to sell a new one if the old one just keeps on going.

Iraq 2 -- lesson: Americans will support a war once it starts so why go through all the UN debates and arm twisting. Just say the guy "gassed his own people" and unleash hell ASAP.
