So La France near swept the Oscars tonight.

Take that, freedom fries.

And more than one of the winners said that they love America.

Judging from my time in France, the French people Do indeed love America.

Vive la France and God Bless America!

Hold the fries.

on the big screen in three years living in Paris than I could ever see here. There is a huge appreciation for the things that define American culture for the good over there. So nice to see talented French filmakers and performers in the spotlight here. Can't wait to see the film.

From that I conclude that old white guys love France. When I was there in the 80's, I loved everything about my experience except outlines of footprints on either side of a hole in the floor, which is where I was expected to shit if I were in a public restroom.

I've never had the opportunity to ask a woman who might have been there at the same time what THEIR public restrooms were like.

Ladies?

Vive la France!

NEVER in France. I visited and lived in France during the 1980's and visited again in 2000. Been in many public ladies' rooms there and never had to use anything other than the same type of toilets as in the USA.

I was an exchange student (AFS) to Tehran, Iran in 1978 and used the type of toilets you describe everywhere there (public and in private homes).

We men thought the women were getting unfairly higher quality bathrooms! The women laughed.

If you like France you should watch Midnight in Paris. Both very good movies and everyone should see them.
