you can right clcik on the image and (1) save image if you want it on your PC or (2) click on 'copy image location'. It will put the address in your clipboard, then paste it directly to your post.

If you make your own image then presumably you have image editing software already and can save the image as you wish without any screen capture. But once you have an image on your computer you do need to upload it to a server in order to make it available on the Internet and then to share it on DU. That's why I recommended Photobucket or Flickr.
