Wisconsin Dems 1st ad: 'Walkergate'

&feature=player_embedded

The Wisconsin Democratic Party's first ad against Gov. Scott Walker likens the still developing investigation into his former county executive political aides to Watergate, including the legendary clip of Sen. Howard Baker asking what the president knew and when he knew it.

It's a blistering side-by-side comparison of the arrests of his former aides and the Watergate scandal, with the words "Scott Walker" and "Watergate" merging together on the screen over a series of news clips to become "Walkergate"

"Embezzled money. Misconduct in office. Missing funds. Felonies. High level campaign of political sabotage," are the cadence of charges leveled in the 30-second spot that begins airing Monday night.

It's notable that the Democrats' first paid advertisement of the recall election centers around the corruption probe and not Walker's legislative moves to curtail union rights and benefits.
