Here's a picture of Sly and the Family Stone, so at least this thread will have some redeeming quality to it.

4 year terms.

We change congresscritters, not executives, when we are peeved.

Impeachment is only to be used as an extreme remedy in extreme cases. We didn't impeach Junior Bush; we sure as Hell aren't impeaching Barack.

They planned it and keep reminding us that they will. The Senate will vote it down but the record will stand that he was impeached.

Words have meaning. You don't get to make up your own definition of "confidence vote".

Not even Cameron's defeat in the British House was a confidence vote.

Our president is nowhere in the Constitution obligated to resign just because he did something you don't like.

A lost vote is a lost vote, not much more. The only thing he should do if he loses this vote, hell even if he wins it, is break out of the DC/Wall Street bubble and start listening to his country. If he was paying more attention, this entire fiasco would not be a surprise. In large part, we're reliving the 70s, which should be instructive to any president regarding foreign policy.

but if he attacks inspite of a no vote in the House, I have the feeling they will impeach him (with acquittal to follow in the Senate)
