Madeleine Albright to Congress: Authorize Obama's Syria plan

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright wants Congress to authorize President Barack Obama to use force in Syria, adding her name to a growing and bipartisan list of outside validators who have rallied to the president's cause.

"I urge Congress to vote 'yes' on the resolution authorizing a military response to Bashar Assad's illegal and immoral use of chemical weapons to murder more than one thousand innocent people," Albright, who served as secretary of State under President Bill Clinton, said in a statement.

Albright, who has been in contact with some lawmakers, felt strongly about the vote and wanted to make her views known.

"The United States and the world community either have the courage to establish and enforce the standards of civilized conduct or they do not," Albright said. "Either option has risks, but to me, the risks of complacency and inaction far outweigh those of the limited, but purposeful, response now contemplated.

Such a callous and heartless thing to say. I've loathed her ever since she uttered those despicable words. Those were human beings not "collateral damage."

It was ok that the U.S. sanctions on Iraq in the 90's
lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of children
and it "was worth it" but now Syria should be
punished.

I think if we some how escape attacking Syria in
the near future there will most certainly be another
chemical weapons attack in Syria by whomever.
Then, the administration and the MIC can say they
told us so and continue the PNAC agenda. imho

Who cares what old war mongers have to say? They've no skin in the game and nothing to lose.

If she's so interested, she should lead.
