As I thought, I have no issue because I've always kept my web history 'off'. Ain't no body's business but my own, as they say.

3. Does this file only get updated when you sign in?

I checked it out last night and I really don't have anything I'd worry about...but I did wonder if this data gets tracked when I'm logged into my GMail account or are they tracking it in for general searches when I'm not logged in.

and google asked me to set up my account. also could be that i have always set my history to 'off'.

from the article at the 1st link: "Google’s new and dubious Privacy Policy jumps into action next Friday, March 1," huh? at my house, march 1 is thursday.
