What will you think if the US continues to push for a military strike, even after Syria offers up their chemical weapons?

(4,795 posts)He did the most evil thing possible! And now we're going to just drop it? Gas people and get out of war free by just getting rid of the rest of your stash?
BTW, sarcasm aside, I think avoiding a war is the least stupid thing we can do at this point. Let's just be careful about twisting ourselves in knots to paint this as some amazing strategic and sensible success. The US blundered their way into this corner and now they are blundering their way out ("looking weak" on the way). Blundering is better than murdering children with bombs to make a point, but lets be honest about this incoherent moment in US diplomatic history

(37,364 posts)continue to hold out a strike as part of making certain that the CWs are turned over and I imagine that there will be the possibility of a strike left dangling to ensure that any that have been squirrelled away by Assad are not used in the future. It seems to me to be a realistic expectation to continue to ensure that such weapons are not used again.

(24,096 posts)It's become a habit for many here, that there has Got to be something Awful to pin on the President.
Things were buzzing with glee here these last few days, blaming Obama for discoloured dentures all the way to that chunk missing out of the moon. And lookie lookie, maybe he ain't the debil after all.
But I'm sure Something will come up soon, something reeeeel baaaaaaad that Obama did, has done or might be thinking of doing, and the celebrations can take up again.
