..."We hear many stories of the renewal of natural lands after a devastating wildfire, but this photo of an older burn area in New Mexico is particularly striking. Its from Geraint Smith Photography in Taos, New Mexico. It shows the Valle Vidal Unit of New Mexicos Carson National Forest, which, like many parts of the U.S. west, has had its share of wildfires in recent years.
The fires in the U.S. West have been exacerbated by hot, dry summertime conditions. Theyre often driven by wind. Later, even a little rain can help rejuvenate a natural area (although human structures may be lost). "....

The awful droughts ever year would make me reluctant to move back, though.

around the state as much as my time permitted. It is indeed wondrously beautiful! I'm overdue for another trip.

There are even some seeds that require fire to pop them open..
Humans have interfered with nature for so long, many don't realize that nature left alone, will recover...and may even be better than before..
There;s a great documentary about Mt St Helens and the experiment there to fix part..and not fix others.. guess which are better now?
