Both MSNBC & CNN Cut Away From The President's Speech On Jobs & Economy......

This is probably the most important issue on the minds of the American People and they cut away. It was just at the time when he started to chastised the Repugs on what they are proposing on the economy that detracts from what we need to do in order to strengthen this economy and get us back to moving forward faster versus going backwards.

I just don't get it. Why don't these networks want this message to come across?

My guess is that in this case, gun culturists would prefer the camera to stay on Obama, this one time.

I got sick of both of these channels along with FAUX news.

Hence, I dropped by cable teevee from the 57 channels w/nothing on to 13 channels w/nothing on instead.

This act alone saves me a whopping $65.00 a month which is enough to pay my garbage bill and my sewer bill. I cannot think of a better thing to do with the savings then spend it on disposing of garbage and sewage, and yes, that is what MSNBC and CNN (and FAUX) are to me -- garbage and sewage.

I suggest you do the same if possible. You'll be saving lots of money and gaining some sanity it seems to me.

Some form of cable that is.

I watch a lot of stuff on line on pbs.org.

What a grand variety of stuff there is on there. Under the NATURE section there are at present 80 programs to watch that are ~1 hr. long.

I spent a good part of my weekend watching the NATURE series programs.

I so very glad that PBS.org is still around for those of us that can't get out much and don't have a lot of $$$ to spend.

Cheers!!

Nothing new there. If people were wild about economic speeches that's what they'd get. Instead they'd rather hear about the shooting in DC and flooding in CO.

It's not a conspiracy. Just business as usual.

and their brainwashing has worked wonders in both dumbing down the American People and in creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It wasn't really the Republicans that damaged the credibility of the supposed "liberal media" so much as it was the corporate media themselves.

MSNBC didn't cut Phil Donahue because for lack of "sensationalism" or ratings as he was #1, but he was liberal.

That was simply a case of the corporate media; MSNBC in this case supporting Republican contentions that the media was too liberal while curtailing public debate from a major political wing during a critical time in our history.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Donahue

In July 2002, Phil Donahue returned to television after seven years of retirement to host a show called Donahue on MSNBC. On February 25, 2003, MSNBC canceled the show, citing his opposition to the imminent invasion of Iraq by the United States military. Donahue was the highest rated show on MSNBC at the time it was canceled, managing to beat Chris Matthews' MSNBC show Hardball in the ratings.[15] But Matthews was a big proponent of the Iraq invasion and he cultivated a good relationship with MSNBC's management before Donahue came to the network. He played a crucial role in procuring the firing of Donahue and "saw himself as MSNBC's biggest star, and he was upset that the network was pumping significant resources into Donahue's show."[16] In the fall of 2002, U.S. News & World Report ran a gossip item that had Matthews saying over lunch in Washington that if Donahue stays on the air, he could bring down the network.

I guarantee you if Bush the Least had been making a speech and was scoring political points against the Democrats, they wouldn't have preempted him.

Matthews not only supported the war with Iraq, he had done everything possible on "liberal" network MSNBC in aiding George W. Bush to power five years earlier before he took over for Donahue.

The Daily Howler website has a great archive documenting Matthews participation along with most of the rest of the corporate media's "War Against Gore."

- you can bet that I've got my eye on what's going on in DC. It has nothing to do with sensationalism. It has to do with the well-being of my son. Thankfully, he's several blocks from the Naval Yard so he's out of immediate danger. However, much is unknown at present - including the number of shooters and where the others may be if there was more than one.

Pretty sure I can find both a transcript of the presidents speech as well as a video of it, too. There's no need to watch any speech live in this day and age.

Did he introduce anything that will create jobs? Screw "the economy"- the only ones who make money from "the economy" are CEO's and people who already have everything.

Did he say anything that will make life better for the Working Poor (f.k.a. the Middle Class)?

Or was it just a talk?
