I joined the Solidarity Singers for the noon Singalong yesterday (pic heavy)
The Singalong was held outdoors yesterday, as some group had made a reservation for the Capitol Rotunda. That group never showed up, obviously part of the ploy by the cowardly Walker and his henchmen to keep the Singers from exercising their free speech rights.
Perhaps an average turnout?
A new song was introduced, or more accurately, new lyrics (credit Mary Ray Worley) for an old song, Elaine Purkey's "One Day More". Here's the chorus ...
One day more, one day more
People let me tell you what we're singing for:
We're singing for our freedom, don't you understand?
And we don't need a permit, we just need your helping hand to ...
Sing one day more, one day more
If the governor holds out 20 eyars
We'll hold out one day more
One day more, one day more
If the governor holds out 20 years
We'll hold out one day more.
The People's Bucky was there ...
Thank you Solidarity Singers for keeping the attacks on our free speech rights in the spotlight. We are all indebted to you.
