Gun enthusiasts: Stop it. Just stop it. The Naval Yard was not a goddamned "Gun Free Zone".

I say so because yet again I'm already hearing that tired old carnard they trot out after every mass shooting: That mass shooters supposedly "seek out" so-called "gun free zones" because they're too afraid of some tough John Wayne guy with a CCW returning fire.

Yes, we know that there were thousands of unarmed civilians at the Naval Yard. Yes, we know that not even all of the military personnel at the Naval Yard were armed.

However, there were plenty, plenty of armed personnel at the Naval Yard. Why? Because it's the fucking Naval Yard.
