I miss FOX

A Rant:

Up until this past spring Formula 1 racing (motor-sports) were covered in this country by The Speed Channel, which is part of the FOX broadcasting conglomerate. This is not FOX News. Their coverage was very good with practice sessions (2), qualifying, and the final races themselves being broadcast. But CBS(sports) took over the coverage and ever since then it has been going down hill, with this weekend's airing of the race in Singapore being the absolute low mark. There is no consistency to the times of airing, they no longer show both practice sessions, coverage is often incomplete (programs beginning after the event has started) and occasionally they don't even show each of the segments on the same channel. It is difficult to imagine how a major network could make such a mess of something that was already being done well by others - Oh, and its not the fault of the three (very able) commentators they use, which are the same three men who previously did the same work for FOX.

I think the networks and other cable news channels constantly vacillate between trying to be Fox and trying something new. They don't realize that Fox's profitability is made possible by Murdoch and corporations pushing a RW theocracy/corporatocracy on us.
