Carrying a gun around schools didn't work out quite as man hoped

http://www.katu.com/news/local/Carrying-a-gun-around-schools-didnt-work-out-quite-as-man-hoped-224634911.html

HILLSBORO, Ore. – Sometimes, a point is best left unmade.

Even the man who caused a scare at four Hillsboro schools on Thursday admits carrying a gun around in the neighborhood probably wasn’t a great idea.

The man said he was trying to make several points about guns when he walked around the outskirts of Century High School and three other schools, causing a panic and an immediate change in policy.

On Friday, the man – who asked that his name not be used – told KATU News his plan might have been misguided.

"It wasn't in my mind that I was really gonna terrify or scare anybody," he said. "It was just the route I usually take when I go run."

Hmmmm not too bright to open carry near some schools......especially one that your mom works at! Dumbass.

What if he was going to go on a killing spree. Should people just ignore a man with a gun near a school? This asshole needs to be fined hundred or thousands of dollars for the panic he caused. This will teach those who aren't breaking any laws that it's just a stupid move. Not everyone is okay with people carrying guns. Keep your gun in your pants if you feel the need to carry your paranoia.

going to murder children.

That is weak sauce, even from a perpetual lovejoyer. Even the school changed their policy to not have a full on mental breakdown every time someone isn't doing anything wrong.

to open carry in areas where large numbers or innocent people are gathered together. Can you not comprehend the difference? If they are too clueless or arrogant to figure out how this could create a dangerous situation for the community, they are too stupid or dangerous to be trusted with guns.
It becomes a public safety issue. If you want to brandish around huge groups of people- do not be shocked the community will react with disgust.

They are getting more and more aggressive with their "it's my right to carry a gun anywhere I want and if you don't let me it's a violation of my 2nd amendment rights" bullshit. Tons of Youtube videos including the guy in Wal-Mart who had someone taping him and three women who entered a restaurant in a Wal-Mart with guns in a side-holster (not sure if I described that correctly) that were visible.

Starbucks asked people not to bring guns into their stores, but isn't willing to enforce the rule. It's lukewarm bullshit. People are still going to do it. If anything they will become more aggressive. They took the coward's way out.

I'm shocked how often these types of things are happening these days. It seems like not a day goes by and another one comes up. These are the same people that keep saying that Obama is going to take away their guns and put them in FEMA camps. Personally I'd be happy with putting them on a C-130 sending it over the ocean and dump them out.

A friend visiting from Australia liked to take a walk in the morning to go have a toke, since no smoking of any kind was allowed at the house.

Returning one morning, my friend told me about a nice, peaceful spot he found by a chain link fence. After I stopped laughing, I told him that the fence enclosed a school--and I explained about the enhanced penalties for drug-free school zones.

Yet there are 30,000 gun deaths a year. And most of those 140 justifiable homicides are committed by men, even then that includes questionable justifiable homicides like Zimmerman.

Under current gun laws any jackass (or luntatic, or mass murderer ...) can get a gun and approach schools with unknown intent ...?

That's the point he made ... more and more people are seeing that point

Dirty Harry is just a movie character. Real life is much messier than that.

This guy needs to have his guns removed.
