I have come to the conclusion that REPUBLICANS are REALLY AFRAID that OBAMACARE will SUCCEED thus making them completely irrelevant in the public eye.
WHY ELSE do they keep bringing this up to a vote to stop it in the US House of Reps(42 times) WHY cause if they knew OBAMACARE would fail they would do everything to make sure that Barack Obama would have egg on his face. Instead they are afraid that it will put egg on their face.
Republicans are running scare. OC will be a sticking point on the upcoming budget talks.
Republicans have nothing to offer.
BTW I wont talk about the Affordable Heathcare Act with others if they call it Obamacare because for me that is code.

(10,624 posts)It's going to significantly help a small, but not insignificant, percentage of the electorate. Most people won't see any real change at all (although they will now be safer). Only a very few will be worse off, and then only because they are so young, healthy, and rich. (so to hell with them anyway )
People will realize that the Republicans have been spinning bullshit about this program for years once it is fully into effect and actually helping people.

(4,554 posts)Been my impression they want Obama to be seen as a failure, period. Nevermind all the achievements during his terms; just focus on one issue alone and harp over and over on it. Seems like a stalling technique since they've got no game. After all, it is under a Democratic president that one of their own policies (Romneycare) got implemented.

(9,033 posts)it is the whole idea that the government--not the Invisible Hand of the Market--can do something positive for ordinary people that has the Republicans in such a panic.
That would go a long way toward destroying the St Ronnie of Raygun myth that "government isn't the solution, it's the problem."
