When Sen. Blunt had a wife AND a lobbyist mistress, what birth control were they using

Last edited Fri Mar 2, 2012, 11:27 AM - Edit history (1)

so he could have sex with the mistress without the risk of her getting pregnant, upsetting his private affairs by making the cheating on his wife a public matter, and ruining his chances of becoming a senator (he was a congressman at the time)?

And...who was paying for the birth control?

And....why doesn't the newsmedia dare to ask pertinent questions like this when Sen. Blunt drafts legislation to make it harder for women to access affordable birth control on the basis of their employer's 'moral objections' as he words it?

needs background info. From CREW'S Most Corrupt Report 2005: Beyond DeLay

<...>

REP. ROY BLUNT

Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO) is a fifth-term Member of Congress, representing the 7th district of Missouri. Rep. Blunt is also Majority Leader Tom DeLay’s right-hand man.1 In 1999, two years after taking office, Rep. Blunt was handpicked by then-Whip DeLay to serve as Chief Deputy Whip,2 and he became Whip in 2003, when DeLay became the Majority Leader.3 Rep. Blunt’s ethics issues stem from the misuse of his position to benefit family members, his connection to lobbyist Jack Abramoff, and a trip paid for by a foreign agent.

Legislative Assistance to Family Members
Legislative Assistance for Philip Morris

In 2003, Rep. Blunt divorced his wife of 31 years to marry Philip Morris (now Altria)lobbyist Abigail Perlman. Before it was known publicly that Rep. Blunt and Ms. Perlman were dating – and only hours after Rep. Blunt assumed his new role as Majority Whip – he tried to secretly insert a provision into Homeland Security legislation that would have benefitted Philip Morris, at the expense of competitors.4 Rep. Blunt’s provision would have made it harder to sell tobacco products over the Internet, and would have cracked down on the sale of contraband cigarettes.5

This is as much a war on poor women as a war on women. For those procedures that are most likely to be banned, most middle class people and rich people can probably afford them, even if it would be a financial duress for some of them. In the same way, anti abortion laws affect mostly lower income women, because more affluent women can always fly (drive) to another state where laws are more liberal.

For Blunt, of course, the money problem does not exist.

I am morally repulsed by the thought of that fat, old white guy doing any woman. So I specifically prohibit him getting any kind of medical treatment that would enable him or encourage him to engage in such disgusting activities. So no Viagara or similar medication and no money for any kind of birth control. If your pecker is broken sorry you'll have to pay to play.

Whatever happened to the Republican who was paying off his mistress and her husband to cover up (and continue) their affair?

Hell, let's go for the big one, Newt Gingrich. No Democrat could EVER get elected with his marital history, even to Congress.

IOKYR.

Yeah, I know: "Who?" Odd, isn't it, how such a juicy scandal just totally slipped by the bulldogs of the Fourth Estate? Sen. Ensign was having an affair with the wife of his best friend, who worked in the Senator's office. When hubby found out about it, Ensign's parents bought him off with a cushy job offer.

There was some coverage after Ensign resigned, but barely a word was aired or published until then.

The number of abortions they have had since being elected to office after telling their constituents that they had "family values".

They all stuck up for Senator Ensign at first.
Because they stuck to using the code of omerta in the GOP caucus.
