Here is the web site for her Governor's campaign(Not the official web site as one doesn't exist yet):
http://wendydavisforgovernor.com/
I could not find anyway to donate on that site, so I called her campaign office (817-886-8863) and they sold told me I could just donate to her Senate campaign and she will be able to use those funds for her governor run.
That site is here: https://secure.wendydavisforsenate.com/page/contribute
Or you can mail a check to:
Senator Wendy R. Davis Campaign
P.O. Box 1039
Fort Worth, TX 76101
Please rec this thread if you send a donation.
Please send something if you can, even if it's just a dollar. Her opponent already has $20 million and she's going to have to play some serious catch up. I'm in for $25 per month and I may up that depending on how everything pans out.
This is big. The entire GOP is anchored in Texas. Without Texas, the entire GOP goes down like the titanic.

(36,974 posts)It says in the 'About this website section:
This is NOT the official website for Wendy Davis for Governor. But welcome to our discussion! We will cover the good, the bad and the things that amuse us about her campaign and those that run against her.
Wendy is NOT announcing her decision until October 3rd so any and all websites that have 'governor' in them will not be hers.
I think that perhaps a change of text and a note in your OP letting everyone know that the first link is NOT an official website and that it is just a discussion blog would be appropriate.
I don't think there will be an official web site until she formally announces. I first called her Senate campaign office and they directed me to the number above which is for her governor campaign. The person at that number was the one that told me I could donate to her Senate campaign and the funds would be available for her gubernatorial race and he also gave me the URL for the first link. If anyone has further questions they can call that number.

So, they actually SAID that they were her GOVERNOR campaign?
Really?
They are admitting it already?
Seriously, really???
If so then this is HUGE news

(36,974 posts)Politicians raise money ALL the time - but 'she' has not said that she is running for governor yet.
Did the person on the phone say that they were at her 'governor' campaign headquarters? Or Senate campaign headquarters?

(36,827 posts)The number was given by her Senate office (which can't talk donations due to ethics rules). The number traces to her Senate campaign office. The question I specifically asked was if I donate to her Senate campaign will those funds automatically transfer when and if she runs for Governor. The answer was yes. I wouldn't expect them to commit any more than that given that she hasn't formally announced.
If you look at the timing of this thing it makes perfect sense. The quarterly campaign filing has to be made in October. The announcement is coincident with that.

(36,974 posts)She said back in September 18th that she tell every one if she will decide to run for governor or for the Texas Senate seat.
So, we don't know any more than we did back on September 18th.

Sources reporting to AP say she's running for governor.
Her tweet today said:
A week from today, I'm announcing something big. Can you chip in now to show the strength of our grassroots network?

(36,827 posts)However, it's not as if it's from some blog site that found it written on a shithouse wall. It comes from multiple mainstream media outlets which are reporting that the sources they are using are in the inside. So it gives all the appearances of a deliberate leak from the campaign, which is not at all unusual for these things. You also have Wendy Davis herself all but spilling the beans on this.
If Wendy is telling me to send her money, I'm going to send her money. Other people may want to wait till next week, but I'd be extremely surprised if she bows out. There's too many people standing behind her. I plan on going down to Haltom City next week and hearing her say it in person. This is a huge thing for Texas and I have a feeling that this is the beginning of the end for the GOP.

(36,974 posts)Wendy Davis to announce gubernatorial decision Oct. 3
Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram
After weeks of pondering which office to seek, Fort Worth Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis will announce on Oct. 3 whether shes running for governor.
Theres one question Ive gotten quite often in the past few months, Davis wrote in an email to supporters. Whats next?
On Oct. 3, Ill be answering that question, she wrote. I truly appreciate all the work that you my grassroots team have done for me thus far. And Im excited about what we can do together in the future.
The question at hand is whether she will run for re-election in Senate District 10 or for governor.

(36,827 posts)If you were going to make a major political announcement like this, would you drop that on the press cold, or would you leak it a week in advance and give all the major news outlets a chance to send down their big names for the press conference? You don't hype bad news a week in advance.
Keep in mind also that her Senate seat was gerrymandered and she stands little hope of getting reelected, so everything is falling into place for her gubernatorial run. Money has already been pouring in from in and out of state. She already has almost a million as of the last filing and that was back in June.

(36,974 posts).... folks all over the place (and in DC) were saying that Ashley Judd was running for Senate - but when she announced her decision she said she was not.

(36,827 posts)The writing was on the wall for that well before she announced. I don't believe that's the same situation here.
