I have a plan to get Congress off their asses.

As part of the sequester/government shut down, Treasury Secretary Lew should furlough the guy who does the paperwork that provides appropriation funds to Congress for disbursement.

Ooops--you're not gonna be able to make that payroll, Skippy! You ain't got no money, honey! No paychecks for you, and you, and you!

They have their checks arriving on a timely matter. They have great health insurance to make sure that hollow spot where a heart usually is is still vacant but healthy. They have a secure job. They will not ever experience that feeling that many get with an uncalled for pink slip or walking into their office only to find their property is crammed in a box and co-workers are quiet and have their eyes geared to the floor. They can afford to be cruel about food stamps because their pantry is full and will always be. Fear on one side and security on the other. Bedfellows they will never be but if only we could have them "switch" their lifestyles so they could see the light from the other side.
