Getting rid of annual and lifetime benefit limits. Just got a call about someone's copay on a prescription drug, yeah, for the rest of the year, he will have to pay 100% of the drug cost(insurance negotiated price) rather than his usually much smaller copay. By the way, the limit was only 1,000 dollars, that plan just fucking sucks. Good thing his medications weren't too expensive, or he would have hit that limit back in January or February, believe me, I've taken calls from people in March asking why they are paying the full price, and having to explain why is really heartbreaking, basically telling them they are screwed financially, or will have to find some charity to help them get their medications.

(97 posts)My husband and I both have medical problems. I don't know what we would do if we were forced to pay full price for our meds. I guess we would just have to pick and choose which ones were most important. Sadly, that's the reality for too many people right now.

(7,670 posts)you try to explain to someone who calls in March, that yes, their son's diabetes medication is basically no longer covered, and will now cost 300 or more dollars, a month, and they actually burst out in tears because they just got this job(and employer insurance) back last fall, and didn't know about this annual limit, and still pay 600 dollars or more a month on the insurance.
I complain a lot about Obamacare, it doesn't go far enough, frankly single payer is the best compromise I wish we had, even if it cost me my job, it would be worth it knowing I and everyone would get covered. But, in this instance, this is something that was a good idea from the get go, these annual and lifetime caps on coverage are simply atrocious.
