Rigell Releases Document Detailing Potential Impacts of Federal Government Shutdown
From an email from Virginia's 2nd congressional district Republican congressman. I find it interesting that he mentions that the president will continue to be paid but does not mention that Congress will be paid also:
Today Congressman Rigell released a document detailing the potential impacts of a Federal Government shutdown.
Rigell wrote: "With a potential government shutdown looming, I wanted to take a moment to assure the residents of the Second District that I have supported measures in the House to keep our government running as well as a measure that would ensure our troops and those who support our armed services are paid in the event of a shutdown. In an effort to keep you fully informed, I want to share with you how services could be affected in the event of a government shutdown."
