Netanyahu Isolated In His Iranophobia As The World Seeks Engagement

TEHRAN – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this week that Iran's new president is a "wolf in sheep's clothing", but he himself is looking increasingly isolated on the world stage as his allies seek to engage Iran, Reuters wrote in an article published on Friday.

Following are excerpts of the text of the article:

After years of worrying about Iran's disputed nuclear ambitions, Netanyahu took to the stage at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday and made his most explicit threat yet to attack the Islamic republic unless it ends its atomic program.

However, his warning carried less weight than in previous years, with only a dwindling band of diplomats and experts convinced that Israel might unleash its warplanes, especially at a time of warming ties between Iran and the rest of the world.

One Western diplomat involved in Iranian nuclear diplomacy described Netanyahu as "out of step" with the mood of detente and a former senior U.S. official cautioned that Israel would be unlikely to secure all its demands in any negotiations.

i recall all the posts here about the 'glorious' Arab Spring. And how Israel was finally going to pay the price for a Democratized Middle East. Uh-huh.

Maybe the Israelis should formulate their foreign policy strictly from DU. After all, we may not have all the information, but we certainly have all the answers. And for some strange reason, those answers always blame Israel and its leaders for everything bad that ever happened since the Year 1. It is just so easy, is it not?

After all, when the IDF hit the Iraqi reactor, although the world condemned the action, everyone in the ME slept a little more soundly that night. There was no DU in those days, but I can only imagine the posts about sovereignty of Iraq, etc.

As I said, it is just so easy.
