Boehner: I will not bring up a "clean" debt limit increase under any circumstances

Under any circumstances.

He is up front about it. No reading between the lines... he states that he will push America into recession unless Obama grants policy concessions.

This means one of three things:

a) that policy concessions from Obama are more valuable to America than not being plunged into a recession, and depression and eventual utter ruin. (Boehner gives no time limit at all, so eventual utter ruin is on the table.)

b) that policy concessions from Obama are more valuable to Republicans than America not being plunged (etc.)

c) that Boehner does not mean what he claims

Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) insisted Sunday on ABC's "This Week" that he won't bring up a "clean" debt limit increase under any circumstances, warning that the U.S. will default on its debt unless President Barack Obama agrees to make policy concessions.

"We're not going to pass a clean debt limit increase," he said. "I told the president, there's no way we're going to pass one. The votes are not in the House to pass a clean debt limit. And the president is risking default by not having a conversation with us."

Seriously. She is on a shoe string, if there is any disruption to her cash flow she is toast. She has zero savings and was just forced into bankruptcy because of it. They don't care who they hurt, but if they default, it will kill people and destroy massive amounts of elder wealth that middle class families stand to inherit. These scumbag pieces of shit won't notice.

I'm a Canadian small businesses owner, and just starting to recover from the last recession. I have loans to pay and staff to pay, and unlike a lot of people, Christmas is our worst season.

Default has a lot of implications for people who don't even have the possibility of any influence.

If there were something that I could do, you bet your ass I would be doing it.

The nation's assets? If that is so, then maybe we might have found why the tea party wants us to default.

So there are 2 outcomes:

1) Debt limit will be resolved in time - republican party remains a boil on America's booty.

2) Debt limit will not be resolved in time - end of republican party.

In all honesty, I choose #2. People will go through a lot of pain, but it will just be once, the the pugs are finished.

If we get #1, we will continue to be on the path to total destruction.

is to cut Social Security and Medicare benefits for baby boomers.

He rarely says it out loud because he knows no one can get elected on that platform.

It's really theft. The government borrowed the Social Security money from the Baby Boomers' trust fund. It has to be paid back to the trust fund. The Republicans don't want to face the fact that the money is owed, pure and simple.

The interest rates are as low as they possibly could be already. Baby boomers get nothing but paper on the stock market for their personal retirement savings. Medicare and Social Security are all that keep most Baby Boomers and those of us born during or before WWII alive.

Don't be fooled. The Republican agenda is to feed everything in America to the oligarchs' greed and impoverish everyone else. And they are achieving that agenda point by point. Sometimes some of the Democrats help them out.

Stand strong for Social Security and Medicare. It isn't just about your parents and grandparents. It's about you. It's about America.

If the ACA is so terrible and is going to cause as many problems as they say it will, then why not let it fail on its own? If it's going to increase the debt and put people in deep debt and cause HHS officers to kick down the doors of every teenaged pregnant girl, why not let that happen and blame Obama for it all?
Because they are lying about the bad effects of ACA, they know they're lying. They know that voters are going to look at the good effects of ACA and see all the obstruction the republicans have commited in its implementation. The pubs have backed themselves in a corner here, and now they are Obama is going to help them out by capitulating. Best thing Obama can do is offer a merciful coup de grâce.

"a conversation" so that he and the GOP are really in control

Time for populism in the House when a Democrat is president

When Bush was president time for imperial presidency

"a conversation" is like being told you're being brought around for a coffee
when visiting the godfather

Obama needs to make the point more clearly how the White House
has been flexible for months while the Tea Party refused to negotiate

Each new poll that comes out shows Americans more and more blaming the Republicans for the mess meaning the longer this drags out the more it hurts Republicans. And still Boehner persists, expecting different results. And over the weekend the NYT came out with a story that leaves no doubt about this government shutdown being GOP strategy from the day Obama was re-elected.
