Plouffe: We 'Probably' Accommodated GOP Too Much In 2011

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/david-plouffe-we-probably-accommodated-gop-too-much-in-2011

House Speaker John Boehner R-OH famously bragged that he landed "98 percent" of what he wanted during the previous debt ceiling negotiations. With another showdown looming, Obama has said repeatedly that he will not negotiate this time around, imploring Boehner and Republicans to simply raise the debt limit by the mid-October deadline.

Probably?

Now you can just call them "right".

Most of it centered around huge paychecks on the other side of the revolving door.

politics. Of course, the focus for Obama and team is to clearly provide information about Obama's previous negotiations and even hint they "gave away the store" as a way to refute their idiotic claim he's not willing to negotiate.

That the Right was allowed far too much play since 2008...and somehow that didn't happen now?

Actually, in retrospect that may be an admission- if it was considered mission accomplished, the "compromising" with the GOP would be trumpeted from the highest towers.

Utterly.
Incontrovertibly.
Undeniably.
Totally.
Completely.
Categorically.
Precisely.

Unquestionably.
Conclusively.
Decidedly.

Solidly.
Undoubtedly.

Idjits.

In a sense, this particular shutdown is entirely the fault of the Obama administration, in that they always caved before, and thereby taught the pukes that they always would.

I am proud and heartened by the fact that Democrats and the White House are standing strong today, but it would have been far better if they did it 4 years ago.

Remember, we'd had the 2010 elections where the repubs picked up seats and Obama was facing re-election. I think he did what he had to do, if he'd fought the repubs in 2011, they would have drawn it out so far, that it would have damaged Obama and hurt is re-election chances. He got reelected and now he is a strong position because no matter what, this is his last term in office.
