Finally got an account on healthcare.gov...maybe the problem is hotmail email.

I tried all day yesterday with my primary Hotmail email, to no avail. Kept saying account id already in use,
no matter how many permutations and combinations I tried, up to 35 characters. Tried to get an email sent
to me with password, etc...nothing.

Tried this morning with gmail and got an account right away.
The system will let me log in, but then it won't let me do anything else.
Hit Get Insurance, and it logs me out and asks me to log in again over and over.
I reported that with live chat; will keep trying.
At least I got the account today, yay!

clearing your cache (especially on Chrome) really does help.

I had the same issue as you. As long as I clear my history before I log in, I'm able to proceed.

Have fun!

back-end databases not getting updated for whatever reason. Perhaps due to load or perhaps just some bad design decision (although, not being able to handle the load probably be classified a bad design decision)

I was able to finally create my account a few days ago, so I think they might have finally got things working somewhat decently.

So if data is updated in one place and not the other....

I noticed I was able to get password reset links sent to me, but the system still said it wasn't a valid account.

I would have played with it more to see if I could collect more information, but I resisted the urge because I figured I'd just be adding to the problem..

like the exchanges. I'm actually really disappointed in how that turned out. They had plenty of time to build such a system, and there is lots of talent and experience with building systems meant to handle high loads and even automagically scale up/out/down/in as needed. I just don't understand why they didn't tap into that.

I've got a verified account but haven't completed enrollment, so it says "Review your Application details in your Marketplace Account..." with a link to go to. Click the link and it takes you to a page that says doesn't exist. Hopefully they'll get it ironed out soon
