Ted Cruz Backs House GOP's Temporary Debt-Limit Plan
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Thursday that he supported the House GOP's plan for a temporary debt-limit increase, hoping it would help refocus the government shutdown debate on stopping Obamacare.
My understanding is that this is being driven by House conservatives who are quite reasonably saying listen, lets focus on Obamacare, on winning the fight on Obamacare, on helping remedy the enormous harms Obamacare is inflicting on millions of Americans, and lets push the debt ceiling a little further down the road so that it doesnt distract us from the fight were right in the middle of now, the senator said on KYFO.
That is understandable. There is nothing that is going to impact jobs, or economic growth or even the debt more than Obamacare and stopping this job-killing legislation. So I think that is a focus that makes a lot of sense.

Blunt Opposes House GOP's Short-Term Debt Ceiling Extension
Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) came out in opposition of the House Republicans' proposal to extend the debt ceiling for six weeks, according to CBS News.
Blunt, No. 5 in the Senate Republican Conference, said the short-term extension missed a chance to cut spending.
The debt ceiling, combined with opening the government, gave us at least an end date on when it was likely we could bring these discussions to conclusion, Blunt said on a conference call.
Blunt added that the shutdown is overshadowing the GOP's main goal, defunding the Affordable Care Act.

Word is that Senate Republicans may go against the House and attached a clean CR to the debt limit bill to reopen the government
