Trip to Russia Anyone? Holy Crap!

Russia - where the Vodka runs freely - what else would explain some of these drivers?
Look at what the dash cam has recorded. Unbelievable that people survive on the streets of Russia!

4. I drove a solid week all over Puerto Rico, even on Culebra, and never had the slightest problem.

I thought it was easier than my hometown Chicago, which is pretty ridiculous in some spots. However, Panama City, Panama was too nutty for my taste. Seems India, Russia and S.E. Asia are the scariest places, from what I've seen.

9. Yeah, I swear. Maybe I had a good week? :D That was about 6 years ago, I believe.

Funny thing is, I live in a largely Puerto Rican neighborhood here, and the tempers and driving are just horrendous at times. A good PR friend of mine told me there are a few troublemakers, who just ruin it for all the rest of them. I found pretty much everyone down in PR itself really nice, and mostly the same in my neighborhood. There are idiots of all kinds here.

And he could not understand why people here are arrested for driving drunk. He said that cops there would just drive him home.

on black ice around here, so the people wrecking out and doing doughnuts aren't that impressive.

However, that biker at 2:30 is astonishing. He must've been the drunk one, he not only survived, he got up and he was ANGRY!

11. I wonder if dashcams were as widely used in US as they are in russia...

... would we have similar videos about the US?

In Russia, people use dashcams to deal with insurance claims and as some say, it is nearly a requirement if you have a car, hence a popularity of close-call video collections.

12. That's exactly how these dashcam videos came into existence.

The Russian traffic cops are corrupt and useless, and there are a lot of scammers out there doing slip-and-fall schemes and cut-you-off-and-brake scams designed to extort money from insurance companies. Hence the dashcams, and hence the dashcam videos.

16. Another problem in Russia is the poor quality of some cars

An acquaintance of mine who visited a car manufacturing plant in Russia told me that "Little attention is paid to quality control there. Even new cars in Russia are like used cars."

And then there are those idiots who watch "rally" videos on Youtube and think they can do the same thing on regular Russian roads
