On Saturday, the twelth day of the government shutdown, House Republicans and Democrats have scheduled activities before the 9:30am opening of the House floor session.

The House Republican Conference holds a meeting at 9am. Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer and House Democratic leaders hold a 9:15am press availability to announce the signing of a discharge petition to bring a "clean" continuing resolution for a floor vote.

Over in the other chamber, Senators return for another weekend session. At noon, the Senate is set to take a test vote on a measure proposing to lift the debt ceiling through December twenty-fourteen. If cloture is achieved on Majority Leader Reid's measure, the bill could be voted on mid-week.

I have a Korean friend who calls her brother Cha because Cha means brother in Korean.

Most people on here think I am White b/c Heather is the ultimate white girl name. I usually here a parent screaming at a Heather in the store because she is climbing on the walls

The Senate stands in adjournment until 11:00am on Saturday, October 12, 2013. The time until noon will be equally divided and controlled between the two Leaders or their designees.

At noon, there will be a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to S.1569, a bill to ensure the complete and timely payment of the obligations of the United States Government until December 31, 2014.
