Or if any future President were a Jew, or a Wiccan! or an atheist? Religion is not supposed to be brought into government like our intrusive Christians are doing. Separation of church and state is in the Constitution. Regardless of which gods a President worships in private or doesn't worship, his/her religious affiliation or lack of it shouldn't even be brought up. I remember this being an issue when Kennedy ran for President because he was a Catholic I guess a less acceptable form of Christianity than others.
ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
This is another bigotry being promoted by those Confederate flag wavers, who don't like the fact that our President has black African ancestry and that his children are descendants of slaves. Hating him because he could be Muslim just ties into this ugliness being promoted by these ignorant racist bigots.
They never do get to that side of it. And then we get too amazed by the astoundingly absurd notion that he is a Muslim.

Then we'd have a problem.

(75,480 posts)They are not to do that. However, it seems many of our Christian legislators have crossed the line in making laws about women's reproductive rights.
Which is why I mentioned it. They frustrate me.

(4,119 posts)As long as they did what Kennedy did and say on day one that their religious views would not in anyway effect their governing. The opposite of what Romney said.
