Unfortunately they are all lying, but a cursory review of freep-dom reveals a majority view that the Republican Party is finished, must be destroyed, etc..
Because of funding the government at the levels Republicans demanded in the first place and a pro-forma vote authorizing actually paying for sums spent by a majority of House Republicans in budgets passed by a majority of House Republicans.
It's a funny sort of breaking point.
Both funny strange and funny ha ha.
They seem to feel that because Congress will do something truly unexceptional, there is nothing left but to start a war. It turns out that the second Civil War (shouldn't that be second War of Yankee Agression???) is so well established in the freeper mind that they have it down to an abreviation. CW-II.
Indeed they are. Ill not vote for them again...ever. No need for counter arguments...were doomed until after CW-II and we get a true conservative party.
Not all of them are without hope, however...

(11,709 posts)When the time comes, they will be whipped into place. And while I despise their ignorant, hate-filled politics, I sympathize with their position.

(11,816 posts)I look at what happened in Delaware and other states, where a strong, popular, relatively sane Republican was replaced by a batshit crazy Tea Party favorite in the primaries, and then that nutjob (in that case, Christine O'Donnell) was soundly defeated by the Dems and sane Republicans.
If they go ahead and run Tea Party candidates, it will splinter their party and let Dems win in split states..
Good.
The downside is that the deep South and rural areas of the rest of the country who live in solidly red states and/or districts will be electing fanatics who have no idea how to govern.

(11,709 posts)Yes, the tea partiers are often able to upset main-stream conservatives in the primaries who then go on to lose (sometimes), but generally those tea party backed nuts lose because they turn off independents, not because they lose many main-stream conservative voters.
My point was the opposite, though. Tea partiers will vote for main-stream conservatives in general elections to make sure that the 'evil' Democrats don't get in, just as those of us on the left vote for conservative Democrats to hold off even more conservative republicans.

(37,374 posts)Isn't the Tea Party setting up their own party of hateful bigoted imbeciles? They should have a place to come home to, if nothing else to pass each other diseases obtained while avoiding Obamacare.

(145,666 posts)It only takes 50,000 signatures to start a real third party in Texas. Please run tea party candidates against all of the republicans in 2014

(52,386 posts)right up until someone points out that blacks overwhelmingly prefer the democratic party.
then they'll hold their nose and vote republican.
and before long they'll the forget to hold their nose.
this entire process might even take an entire news cycle or two.

(58,737 posts)This was just the Battle of Gettysburg. They're just now retreating down Cemetary Ridge after Pickett's Charge.
The war is far from over, though, and much of the worst may still lie ahead.

(3,596 posts)It will mean that the conservative vote will be split between the Republics and some splinter group(s) such as the Tea Party. That would mean that a Democrat could be elected to the House or Senate with a minority of votes but more than the two splinter groups.
The same would bode well in Presidential campaigns.

(11,175 posts)You press your ideals in the primary, but when push comes to shove, you vote for the major-party nominee who's closer to your views.
American history would be different if this simple point were understood by some Really Annoying Liberal/Progressive Heroes, who Never Admit Definitely Electing Republicans.

(20,176 posts)and the vast majority of Republicans don't consider the Tea Party Republicans...
Why aren't the Tea Partiers running for office on the Tea Party platform representing the Tea Party?
I feel we should all offer to sign their petitions to get on the ballot as a third party. I'm going to do that...tell them I won't support them if they're running as Republicans but I might support them if they were trying to establish a third party. (I'm not voting for them regardless but it'd be a goldmine if they established a third party in the majority of the GOP-dominated states and started splitting the right-of-center vote.)
It's just a signature. What do I have to lose?

(1,451 posts)They are going to hurt each other. Listen they think its going to be us. but they are making their own demise. Some really believe in their world that everyone in the world is supposed to think and believe like them. They are going to see the hard way. Too many rich people want to keep their money. They have to eat their own. The Republicans who were just going along for the loot and trolling are going to have it out with the Crackpots who actually believe that garbage.

(22,651 posts)They would have done that by now. They're just republican votes, where the big republicans let them do what they want & expect their votes.
They even get some funding I'm sure, just the 'Leaders' paycheck & benefits 'donations' not the little ones of course, management only. You don't expect R- grassroots, leadership to work for free, out of the goodness of their hearts, do you?
