NOW can we talk about Citizens United?

There are now Republicans in the House who openly admit the damage the T-bagger extremists are doing to the party. Those anarchists came to power as a direct result of the Citizen's United decision. And that same big money gravy train promises to primary any R who supported restarting the government and raising the debt ceiling.

Will those Rs who broke ranks to reopen the government dare to work with Democrats to begin dismantling this toxic decision? Perhaps that's a bit too optimistic but until we undo the Corporate Supreme Court's anti-democratic decision, we have no hope of returning sanity to Washington and no hope of a Repubican party that isn't completely submissive to corporate interests.

We could also talk about the TPP.

About Sequestration.

About the corporate war on public education, and how politicians on all sides are promoting it.

I don't think they've evolved or learned enough to support anything that isn't in their political interests. I'm just hoping they see the T-bags for what they are; a scab on the ass of democracy and more importantly to R's, a huge threat to their power structure.

they refuse to accept the consequences of their rulings.
They still agree they did right with CU and even though States started discriminating right after their Voting Rights ruling, they wouldn't change their minds.
I think they will remove the donation limit this year.

Would be neat to see that (hasn't happened in my lifetime), but I doubt it would succeed.

shows one of the direct positives of the CU case. I know this will make heads explode here but the power of incumbency is huge. Go check how often incumbents get re-elected if they run. As you noted the CU case allows incumbents to be powerfully challenged, not only by the other party, but by challengers in their own party. While we certainly do not like the fact this has allowed Baggers to oust more moderate Repubs I think the bigger picture is worth examining.

Alright, everyone pounce on me now.

And quite frankly, Arkansas needs outside help from everyone here at DU. We just don't have enough boots on the ground to battle ALEC, Club for Growth and AFP's propaganda here. I hope we'll have everyone's support if this comes to pass.
