Some examples:

- "She actually didn’t sound crazy at all. This is a Spiritual War going on in America, and she sounds like a soldier for God. She actually sounded very coherent."

- "Yup. When you SEE the purposed destruction of America and have inside information on both sides of the aisle performing actions towards that aim, this would be the most vocal — if not terribly convincing, to the common man — way to inform the public. I admire her intent and perseverance, even if I cannot admire her technique."

- "It sounds like she just found out some truth and could not take it. The D of C is satanic from its foundation."

- "And she wasn’t hauled away she walked away with 2 people by her side.A man was going to grab her but another woman jumped in.I’d vote for her "

If she's in D.C. She's probably at St. Elizabeth's on a 48 hour hold.

and relieved to learn that was sent for a mental health evaluation after the incident.

How are we ever going to overcome the stigma of mental illness when so many people feel that it is still appropriate and acceptable to mock and humiliate someone who was clearly very ill. This was no different from someone with diabetes suffering a severe hypoglycemic episode, a person having seizures or a stroke.

In light of all the recently well publicized tragic events that involved people with severe mental illnesses, it pains me to see this behavior here in a "progressive" forum.

I speak up in support of my relative, a gentle young man who ended his life because he could not cope with horrors of war and felt too ashamed to seek help because he feared being ridiculed and losing face.

if she had had a psychotic incident, or was really "proclaiming for The Lord", as fundies will do on occasion.
