Mouth-breathing Missouri secessionist doesn't know meaning of "contiguous"

http://www.stltoday.com/news/opinion/columns/the-platform/short-take-who-is-the-mysterious-missouri-secessionist/article_f6ed2871-4b5b-57bf-8942-52eb6969971a.html

Drive west on Interstate 44 to the city of Lebanon in Laclede County. Stop at the Walnut Bowls Factory Store, pick up some bowls (you can’t have too many) and a new pocketknife (ditto). Get back on the highway another seven miles and there you’ll see it, right past Exit 123, across the highway from the Happy Trails RV Park.
It’s a billboard (you can have too many) reading, “Consider a contiguous 5-State secession TX-LA-MO-MI-OK. What are the pros? What are the cons?”

I am not sure why they left out Arkansas, though. I hope they don't feel left out of this exercise in ass-hattery.

I think it is some kind of hybrid of the AMA symbol with the "Don't Tread on Me" snake superimposed.

I think it's associated with the anti-Obamacare crowd. When I see it, I always think of the "Get your government hands off my Medicare" crew.

Although it could be Mo to Kentucky to Ohio to get to Michigan

although it could possibly be a connection from New Mexico to Colorado to Wyoming to Montana to South Dakota to Minnesota with an underwater connection MI via Isle Royale

Up until a week ago, the billboard had "MI" in place of "MS," which was a problem because Michigan is not contiguous with the other four states (check out a photo here). But Progress Missouri director Sean Soendker Nicholson tells Daily RFT it's now fixed, and the current incarnation is what you see here.

why are they using official US Post Office abbreviations?
