Maybe the Tea Party might have a delay victory...

Before I get flamed please read:

I have a couple friends who work for the government. One directly and One indirectly by being a worker for a government contractor.

Anyways both where grateful that the shut down is over AND both Stressed "FOR NOW" talking to me today Both basically said that the holidays will be tight and basically non existant due to the fact that they will be saving for after the new year when the government could be shut down again.

My one friend is worried about making rent Next Friday while the other friend is planning on stocking up an extra freezer in her garage she hadn't used in a couple years and was hoping to sell in an upcoming yard sale.

So how many other people both government and non government workers are thinking this. How many people on various programs like snap and welfare who will not be buying gifts or anything other than what they have too.

You have store hiring temp help for the holiday season and if sales are lower than expected so temp workers get let go early economic growth is staled. Of course FAUX "News" and all will blame Obama and the Dems for the poor CHRISTMAS SALES and terrible job numbers and they will have their talking points for the next 6 months.

The Tea Party screwed people royally, reducing their approval to the low 20's%. It will even get worse. But Fox news will blame Obama. Therefore, the Tea Party will win, eventually.

If this isn't performance art, then it's just the dumbest logic going on this board.

Of course, it is performance art, so there's no need to worry about the logic.

But your conclusion that somehow Obama and the dems will be blamed for hardship is just plain ridiculous.

Ask yourself...WHY would anyone blame Obama when it is clear to most everyone that the GOP caused the shutdown.

Fox News talking points are pure fiction...no thinking person pays any attention to them.

wife was working at a client's house and as she was leaving the client's friend cornered her chewed her out for being a liberal. We have a lot of very Republican and somewhat racist in the area. My own family are a bunch of Racists jerks who have said some really sick things about Obama and the Dems. Some of them hate my wife for turning me into a Democrat.

the holidays. No turkeys, trees, lights, gifts, etc. We will celebrate with a pot luck of food we have canned or frozen. With another shutdown right around the corner, we are pulling our belts tighter.

Instead we will cook our dog and cat on the grill and pray for the Tea Party and Ted Cruz to continue their good work until we starve to fucking death in the streets.

Happy Holidays

Fox News will blame Obama...so what. Their viewers live in a bubble. GOP's poll numbers are at 75% disapproval which would include even republicans. Everybody knows the GOP caused the shutdown so whatever negative aspects come out of it, will also be blamed on them.

Material goods and holidays are overrated.

The economic model that requires perpetual growth is unsustainable.
