Bernie Sanders should do something useful and introduce a bill to lower Soc Sec to 50yrs

of age.
As a independent he could cross the isle to get co-sponsors.

This would be a good thing by itself but would also give those trying to cut SS a new front to fight.

Do you really think that most people are going to retire at 50 and try to live on a meager SS payment?

check would be a great help to regain your prospective. A chance to turn a hobby into a business, a chance to do volunteer work or go back to school. A reason to getup in the morning.

Also this cyber-era only has jobs for 1/2 the population, so it will happen anyway.

to demand it. Even Iran has national health care.

I'm reminded of HillaryCare...it had issues to be sure, but it was too far ahead of the/her times. And what was a 50 cent bandaid then probably costs $5 now and gouges the family budget. And exactly what did we get for all of that? Rich CEOs and shareholders and worse health care.

7. Better to reduce the workweek.

There is a surplus of labor, and the way to absorb it is to constrain the supply. Both lowering the retirement age and reducing the workweek do the same thing in that regard, but losing the knowledge of older workers harms our collective ability. Also, lowering the retirement age forces younger workers to work even harder, spending fewer hours with their families.

How much would retirement benefits be, when the SS taxes of 80 million people are spread among 100 million retirees?

Social Security is based on how much you pay in. If it started to pay out at 50, you would have to reduce the amount you receive!!!!!

They're greatest fear is that Dems are secret Socialists.
