She was the infiltrator of the baggers, played them like a flute. She was the pied piper and led the rats out of town. They all walked in lock step over the cliff.

They fell and fell hard. I never thought it as an insult to Hillary. They were played perfectly by a master.

Sorry that you felt insulted by that. I didn't vote for her, yet admire her strength. She was the best SOS ever, babylonsister.

Peace~

The repercussions will continue to hurt the economy. I work in commission sales. Our sales tanked in the past two weeks. People are afraid to spend money. This will continue for some time. I have to dig into savings to pay my rent again this month.

So yes this fiasco hurt me and will continue to do so long after the agreement.

The picture was nuanced, the Dems brought the baggers down. The face was Hillary, bless her heart! She/We led the rats out of town. They followed willingly, salivating at the prospect of our caving. We sure as hell didn't.

So spooky, sigh, I sincerely believe that you read the picture wrong. We brought them down and we will keep them down. There is no mention in the picture of any Dem trying to win political points. We won they lost. End of story.

GOTV 2014!

There are definitely at least two angles on the cartoon. I did not tell you which is the angle that I think is the "right" one. If the cartoon's message were clear, you wouldn't have as many people here saying they don't "get" it or that they interpreted it differently from you. Your interpretation is no more "right" than anyone else's.

I think your sentence of "there is no mention in the picture of any Dem trying to win political points" misses the point entirely. There is no "mention" of anything in the cartoon other than the ambiguous "I knew it." Everything else is communicated by the picture of Clinton appearing to remove a Cruz mask.

I never meant to imply she was working with the baggers. I think the picture, that I found on FB meant they were played by someone far superior both politically and intellectually.

I have the utmost respect for her. She set aside the animosity of the campaign trail, accepted the position that PBO offered her, then went on to be the best SOS we have ever had.

I for one liked it very much. Maybe I'm just so pro-Hillary that I'll generally give most things about her a fond glow, even if they might on surface prove somewhat ambiguous.

The primary race between then-Senator Obama and Hillary Clinton was the only time in my long life that I ever had the least bit of trouble choosing a favorite. I loved them equally. Up until the moment I stepped into the voting booth, I had no idea which candidate I'd choose. I stood there frozen for a moment until finally the thought struck me that Hillary had 'loved' me back a lot longer than her rival for my affections had. And it was strictly on that basis that I chose, because there was no other available.

Now of course I'm very glad I got to 'rock with Barack' in the general election. And the next. Maybe it's a form of karma, the universe working things out in its own time. Who could ask for a better president than the one we've got? Nobody with an ounce of brains, far as I'm concerned. I saw something the last few days about a poll indicating a strong probability that Hillary might sweep all 50 states in '16. Sounds like providential timing to me.

Anyway, maybe the point I should've lead off with is that I also know sheshe2's heart. Considering the source, I have no qualms about intent or purpose or suitability, even if some of her other just-as-true friends differ about the effect.

The joke's on Carnival Cruz after all. Anything that pokes fun at him is fine with me!

We don't need to sharpen our teeth on one another, either, when there are plenty of GOP targets requiring our undivided attention.

If I haven't confessed it before, let me say again: I have been writing letters to various GOP extremists, urging them to break away and form their own third party because so much of America is crying out for such a rescue. I have conveniently forgotten to say I want them to do this because it would be the shortest route to their political annihilation. Now some people might think that's not entirely cricket of me, but I say poppycock! This is war.

It's the long game that gets this done.

It's about Democracy. It's about what is right for this country.

but I appreciated it!

I reminded me of this from Ezra Klein over at WonkBlog: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/10/16/if-ted-cruz-didnt-exist-democrats-would-have-to-invent-him/

If Ted Cruz didn’t exist, Democrats would have to invent him

It is tough to appreciate just how much good Ted Cruz has done the Democrats over these last few weeks. (snip)

There are no policy concessions from the Democrats (income verification is already part of Obamacare). There are no procedural concessions from the Democrats. Just the opposite, in fact.

Thank you.

I appreciate the link.

Democrats managed to get the budget conference they've been pursuing for six months. They got a CR of the length they wanted and ending before the next sequestration cuts rather than six-month CR that Sen. Susan Collins proposed. They got a debt-ceiling increase all the way into February. This is far beyond what Democrats thought possible on Sept. 30.

But the strategy Ted Cruz managed to force on the GOP was so suicidal that Democrats felt comfortable forcing Republicans to cave completely. They were so confident that they managed to reject a deal proposed by Sen. Susan Collins and supported by many Senate Democrats because it funded the government for longer than the Democratic leadership preferred. That's a level of control over the outcome that Democrats never expected to have.

Going forward, not only will Republicans be afraid to shut down the government or threaten the debt ceiling again during this Congress, but if Republicans somehow end up doing it anyway, Democrats will be unafraid of the fight. As Democrats see it, if Republicans want to give a shutdown or a default another shot closer to the 2014 election, well, that's great news for Democratic congressional candidates.
