He is one of the 144 house of rep that voted against the rising of the Debt Ceiling. I am from Indiana in a very conservative town about an hour south of Chicago. In fact our towns' Newspaper is called "The Republican". I am an surrounded by crazies to say the least.
My email was as follows:
Mr Rokita,
I am extremely dissappointed in your vote to not raise the debt ceiling. You do not represent me. You call yourself a "fiscal conservative"...Ha. You cost the American people 24 BILLION dollar for no reason. It was for an ideaological stunt that you knew could not be won. With that in mind I figure that you owe me $100.00 for you foolish stunt. I will be expecting a check in the mail for $100.00 soon. Please send to:

I recommend everyone who has one of the 144 GOP Reps or the 18 in the Senate that voted against the bill to do what I did. Make them think about what they did.

(17,469 posts)If you sent your rep and IOU, you are sending him a promise of payment. You mean to say you sent him a bill for $100, as you expect to get paid.
