First thing they have to do is rehabilitate themselves...

They will blame their failure on the cowardly Senate Republicans. It really had nothing to do with their dangerously stupid strategy. It was not their fault - they were courageous and put up a good fight. If the Senate Republicans had stood behind them, they would have won the battle. That is their story.

They don't have to persuade anyone except Republicans. It really doesn't matter what you or I or the Democratic Party or the mainstream media might think. They only have to convince their dedicated followers.

That is the first step in their rehabilitation. Change the narrative and change the reality of their devastating defeat. Will they be successful? Only if they can get away with their lies.

People like John Dean, Frand Schaeffer, Marjoe Gortner, David Brock and a number of others have taught me to be careful about assigning others to such a category.
