I use that example because they are probably the best example of a new system that millions try to log into all at one time. I can't remember one of them that went smoothly on day one.

And have been doing some sort of web programming since the late 90s. If you roll something new out, and it slows your servers to a crawl, you actually look at that as a kind of success. Now, the glitches? Eh, not so much but still.

We did the first ever website of a very famous country musician, and he was hoping and praying the site would crash from traffic. Alas for him, we distributed everything over 3 pretty good servers.
