It appears that there are a lot of folks getting lower cost insurance through the ACA. I also heard on the news that the rate of those uninsured is making a noticible decline in some states.

@DavidCornDC In RI my mom used to pay 800/mo w/1500 deductible. Now under ACA she can pay $300/mo with $500 deductible.

@DavidCornDC My insurer, BCBS, has lowered my mo rate from $382 to $257 since 10/1. That's before subsidies and shopping around. ACA works!

In retrospect, the shutdown happened AFTER it was apparent that the ACA was not going to be defunded or delayed. So, one must assess what was really the intention at that point and for the two weeks that ensued taking the nation and the world to the brink of economic collapse and inflicting a major downturn on employment, spending, and the economy. They knew what the consequences would be, so a fair assessment, as Occam's razor implies, is that their intention was to do just that! Why, because they don't want Obama and the Dems to go into the 2014 elections as the Party that fixed Bush's mess.

and the latest goal of the corporations is to ruin the teabaggers who are trying to cut off the government trough from them, then it would be interesting to see if the corporations will actually get up off of some of the trillions in cash that they are sitting on, and help destroy the teabaggers by actually HELPING with the recovery.
