TEA Party and Citizens United

So...I've read some comments from 'baggers on various news sites....I know, I know, it temporarily lowers your IQ. But after I came out of that lull and the brain started functioning....

Whenever the news item is about a strong possibility that big business will now back more moderate candidates with their money....the response is "we're a grass roots movement, we don't need their money, blah blah blah...."

I'm thinking....you know...there was this thing about citizens united where money essentially equals speech, if there is so much a glimmer of a chance to unseat a TEA politician....they can flood the district with money and put in a more pro business politician in.

Won't be hard to make the argument either...more people with jobs or better paying jobs means more people are paying taxes and paying down the debt. And on the ACA, they will just say it will fail on its own and should address it when it does.

It still remains to see which side big business will side with, but...threatening to hurt their fortunes is usually not a good thing for you.

as it is the kiss of death. Also vote rigging and media belongs to the GOP central power not to teabagger grass roots. Slightly more rational extremists will cynically try to blackmail their own party and donors with some more rational deals and controlling their mob. In any event the GOP is dragged down by its single most emotionally blinding tool beside naked greed.

No real specter of real reform has risen in this extremist failure, except the widespread collapse of the GOP itself should it lose ALL its voting base except racists, idiots and betrayed traditionalists. The real reason they don't want even the populist denying "new" Dems is that the real tipping toward fair taxation, regulation, fair elections and access to information, human rights etc. occurs naturally without leadership and intention. The party capable of doing that is, as of now the last man legitimately standing.

Upping the ante would mean a premature rush to overthrowing the entire government before it is allowed to be one.
