If Ted Cruz is supposedly so smart...

Why doesn't he understand what the debt limited is (Hey Ted, it doesn't raise the debt, just pays for the one we have.)
Thinks coming from the State with the highest uninsured population in the country and takes pride in not insuring any more. (no Medicaid increase)
AND does not understand the simple message of "Green Eggs and Ham", something the average 5 year old gets. It isn't bad to try new things instead of always saying "No."

Can you claim to be smart when you are wrong about everything?

It's easy to be "the smartest guy in the room" when you hang out with morons.

He is a megalomaniacal, sociopathic liar with an ego the size of Montana and a conscience that would fit on the tip of a needle, with room to spare.

Ted Cruz is a fanatic narcissist on a fucking mission from his twisted idea of God, but he isn't stupid.

Actually, his move to the top of the heap mirrors President Obama's rise. President Obama new what to say and how to move Democrats, liberals, the youth, and progressives (that is not exactly the same group). Ted Cruz has a populist appeal to Tea Party, Libertarians, Religious Conservatives, and the far right (those are also not exactly synonymous). If we dismiss him as stupid because he doesn't see things from our enlightened point of view we will underestimate him, just as we underestimated the appeal of the Tea Party and their ilk.

Is Ted Cruz, born in Canada, eligible to run for president?
In 2008, we reviewed research and polled several legal experts. The consensus was that someone is a "natural born" citizen if they have citizenship at birth and don’t have to go through a naturalization process to become a citizen.

If that’s the definition, then Cruz is a natural born citizen by being born to an American mother and having her citizenship at birth. (This same logic would apply to Obama, even if he were born in another country, which he wasn’t.)

The Congressional Research Service published a report on the issue after the 2008 election; the agency is tasked with providing authoritative research to all members of Congress. It, too, supported the thinking that "natural born" citizenship means citizenship held "at birth."

his history shows him to be quite bright. BUY he thinks he is the smartest guy in the room, he has since college from all accounts.
He isn't, there are Senators smarter than him, and he happens to be provably wrong about most things.

Much like Scalia at the SCOTUS.
