To make up for no Friday Afternoon Challenge today...

I humbly offer a look at the little medieval borgo of Anghiari, where I will be in March on my next art expedition, through eastern Tuscany!

It's not the same, I know...

I visited Cortona this last summer, and it looks a lot like Anghiari. These are such beautiful, walled medieval towns.

Enjoy your trip!

I'll actually be using Anghiari as my base and going on the Piero della Francesca Trail, visiting the towns where he painted his masterpieces. So I'll be in San Sepolcro, Urbino, Monterchi and the city of Arezzo.

I have been interested in these towns since I read "Under the Tuscan Sun" and other books on Tuscany by Frances Mayes. I actually also heard her speak...she's funny. She has a strong Georgian accent and her Italian pronunciation is funny!

"Under the Tuscan Sun" was actually filmed in Cortona.

I know you'll have a great trip!

I blush to admit I fell in love with that town.

I need to go back to Siena, also. I missed stuff I now know I would have loved to see...

We stayed several days in Lucca. Another pretty walled town, lol!

The trouble is, there is so much stuff to see.

You could honestly live there and not see everything...

Golden pasta, because they use egg yolks in their pasta dough!

I'm traveling a bit next week, too, so I won't be able to get the Challenge up for it then...
