Sen. Sanders: Global warming ‘far more serious problem than Al Qaeda’

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) says global warming poses "a far more serious problem than al Qaeda" and accuses energy companies of being willing to "destroy the planet" for profits. "

In an interview with Playboy magazine, Sanders targets coal and oil companies who he says have outsized influence over lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

“Big business is willing to destroy the planet for short-term profits,” Sanders said.

“And because of their power over the political process, you hear a deafening silence in the U.S. Congress and in other bodies around the world about the severity of the problem. Global warming is a far more serious problem than Al Qaeda,” he said."

That's the only way we can begin any substantive process of getting other nations on board.

We surely do need SOMEONE on the national stage to take this issue by the horns and start shouting from the rooftops.

The fact that our government, as well as others around the world, are ignoring this problem is nothing short of criminal.

a true fanatical nutcase who places greed before inevitable dangers to everyone around them. They pollute the most, making the greatest negative impact on this planet, yet they pretend everyone is suppose to excuse their actions. Talk about acting entitled. It's crazy.

that someone in politics gets it. It's actually more serious a problem than anything else facing humanity.

He's absolutely right. However, I would advise anyone here who values their sanity and doesn't want to throw up - to NOT read the comments if you follow the link to the article. Good god there are a lot of stupid assholes out there.
